Catfish Movie Review

Movie Review

This movie is a great eye-opener for people who use the internet and do internet dating. There are multiple twists and turns to the movie and really makes you realize what is going on out in the internet. In this movie, the main character Nev Schulman lives with his brother Ariel and friend Henry Joost in New York. Abby Pierce, an eight-year-old artist in Michigan sends him a painting of one of his photographs after becoming FaceBook friends. Nev soon learns about Abby's family, including her mother, Angela and Abby's older sister Megan who is a songwriter. Megan and Nev start talking and get closer and closer. They begin dating and Nev starts to feel as if Megan has been lying about her life, he soon decides to make a road trip to find out if what she’s saying is true.

Catfish is a documentary film directed by Henry Joost, and Ariel Schulman and was released in September 17, 2010. The movie is 86 minutes long and consists of many thrilling scenes. The main characters are Nev Schulman his brother Ariel and friend Henry Joost. The film was recorded in the United States, and Distributed by Rogue Pictures.

Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost sensed a story happening as they began to film the life of Ariel's brother Nev. They had no idea that their project would lead to having such a strange output, and end up taking months of their lives away to film. They find their selves going on a road trip across the country to find out if the woman on the other side of the phone is who she says she is and end up finding out more than they had wanted.

This movie makes you feel as if you are on this journey with the 3 documenters by the way they use camera styles as if it is from their perspective. They also have a variety of hidden cameras and microphones so that the others do not know what’s happening. One thing I really enjoyed about this film is that it was a documentary, everything said in this film was actually said and not written out for the actors to remember. Documentaries make the viewers feel as if they are there with them and help keep you attached to the film.

Overall, I felt this film was really good. It has a great eye-opening ending and makes you realize what is happening all over the world. I would say this film is more geared towards teenagers, young adults, adults, and anyone who uses FaceBook or online dating websites. I feel this movie was a great success and they should make more movies geared towards this subject.

Final Catfish

I found this movie to be pretty interesting. I thought it was crazy how everything was a lie, even when she was supposedly coming out and telling the truth, she still lied about having a daughter and and knowing the people in the photo's. I feel like this lady has some mental issues, she's good at painting but still has a few loose screws in your head.

Catfish 2

I found this movie to be really good actually. It's kinda messed up how the mom ended up being the person that was texting him the whole time and basically made up this whole lie. I think it's going to be cool to see what else happens now and what Megan actually looks like. Another thing that was interesting is that her kid isn't doing the painting either, and that the mom does that too.
